I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Sam Houston State University. I study partisan political intolerance, affective polarization, and religion and politics. I use both quantitative and qualitative research.
In June 2023 I completed my Ph.D in the Department of Political Science at the University of California Irvine, where I was affiliated with the Jack W. Peltason Center for the Study of Democracy. From 2023-2025 I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where I got to teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
I completed my M.A.s in Political Science (2022) and Behavioral Mathematics (2021) at UCI. I completed my B.A. in Political Science in 2016 at BYU-Idaho.
